H.O.T. was the best K-Pop group around during its generation and made music from 1996 to 2001. Not only highly popular in Korea, H.O.T. was widely listened to in other Asian countries, such as Taiwan, China, and Japan, as well as communities located within the Americas.

2. EXO

Another highly successful K-Pop band, EXO has been called the biggest boy band in the world. This is due to their massive following and album sales after their debut into the world of music. In fact, EXO is so successful that it is the best-selling band that Korea has given us in twelve years. EXO has had twelve members throughout its existence, with nine members still working with the band currently.

3. g.o.d.

One of the most successful boy bands from Korea, g.o.d. is a much loved K-Pop contributor. g.o.d. is an acronym for “groove overdose”, and the band’s music makes listeners want to get their groove on indeed. They have been referred to by the title of “The Nation’s Idol” as well as Legends of K-Pop. When they debuted in the year of 1999, their albums began selling into the millions. In fact, in that year they were able to place 5.1 million copies.

4. SES

We have discussed popular boy bands coming to us from Korea, but SES is a highly successful female group that has contributed to the world of K-Pop. In fact, SES is considered the girl counterpart to the most successful boy band in Korean history (H.O.T.). This could be, in part, because of the bands being affiliated with S.M. Entertainment. The look of the band when they debuted in 1997 was very innocent, and they were instantly beloved. Their third album “Love”, released in 1999, was their most successful, selling nearly one million copies.
